SOCIETY AND CULTURE

The department of Society and Culture examines the complex interplay between cultural heritage, identity, and contemporary social dynamics in the Kurdish region. Through interdisciplinary research and programming, this department aims to deepen our understanding of Kurdish society and culture, including its historical roots, traditions, and values, as well as its social evolution into the modern era. Central to this department is the inquiry into the role of language, literature, art, music, and other cultural expressions in shaping the collective identity and aspirations of the Kurdish people. Through collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, cultural organizations, and civil society groups, this department will develop evidence-based policy recommendations and practical tools that foster the preservation and revitalization of Kurdish heritage and culture, while promoting greater social cohesion and resilience in the face of cultural challenges and transformations.
