Activities

Our social activities are aimed at inspiring the youth to have a positive and productive role in their society.

Training courses:

Our youth empowerment programs provide the youth with opportunities to further enrich their capacities, reconcile them with their society, and make them the drivers of societal progress.

Academic Conference for Youth

Our academic conferences will help university students showcase their research, the best scientific research presented at the conference can be presented to the relevant parties that make executive decisions on youth-related matters. In this manner, the youth are connected to decision-making bodies while a bridge of mutual trust is built.

Scientific and thematic seminars

These seminars take place to increase the scientific knowledge and the consciousness of the youth on enduring issues and historical topics, and to offer new understandings of such subjects.

Kurdish Flag Day

To commemorate and honor the flag on Kurdish Flag Day, which falls on December 17th, Nishtman Strategy Institute held a week-long digital campaign. We posted educational content on the history of the Kurdish Flag, from its creation to its officialization, likewise, we explained the symbolism of the Kurdish flag and published quotations expressing the cultural and symbolic significance of the Kurdish flag.

On December 17th, NSI collaborated with two local entities; the University of Kurdistan-Hewler and LezzoEats. With UKH, we hosted a one-day celebration of the Kurdish Flag. There, we created several videos showcasing people wearing Kurdish clothes and using their mother tongue to talk about the Kurdish flag and Kurdish culture. On this day we were able to distribute hundreds of Kurdish and flag-themed merchandise to all the students on the UKH campus. In our collaboration with LezzoEats, we were able to distribute 10,000 Kurdish flags to citizens through Lezzo's delivery services.

Kurdish Clothes Day

On Kurdish Clothes Day, which is March 11th, Nishtman Strategy Institute
celebrated with Cambridge School in Erbil. We joined the annual celebration of Cambridge School to create videos with the young students, giving them a platform to express their joy at wearing Kurdish clothes, singing in Kurdish, and playing traditional Kurdish games. We also created educational posters on the primary pieces of Kurdish Clothing in the Kurdish language, to better acquaint the young students with Kurdish culture and language. We also published this information digitally, through two creative videos showcasing the primary components of men's and women's Kurdish clothes.

Halabja Campaign

Nishtman Strategy Institute has an ongoing regional project dedicated to telling and preserving stories of the genocide suffered by Kurds in 1988. As part of this larger project, we held a specific campaign for the chemical bombing campaign on Halabja, which has become a collective traumatic memory for Kurds in parts of Kurdistan. In this Halabja-specific campaign, we visited Halabja to create videos documenting the resilient spirit of Halabja's inhabitants, inviting them to tell their stories of that tragedy and recount the losses they have suffered as a result.
